(Received tins dav at 12 noon). RUGBY, Sept. 21

The Canard Company have issued a statement declaring they have no knowledge of any insurance difficulties having arisen in regard to the projected giant liner to be constructed for them by John Brown and Coy., af Clydebank. The Ounard Coy. say they have not yet began to place any insurance on this new ship, that the terms of the contract have still to be settled with the builders and that dry docking arrangements at Southampton are .still under amicable discussion. It is understood that the new liriei which will exceed the speed and size of any other afloat, will probably require 'a special dry dock to he constructed or adopted for her. This construction or extension of an existing dock, could °f course, be undertaken while she is building. The insurance on such a huge vessel would naturally involve a great sum, but a few weeks ago an an.nouncement was made that the Board of Trade would undertake, at reasonable any proportion of the insurance of the vessel which could not he accommodated by the market. in the ordinary manner. A formal agreement was, it was added, in process of being drafted, and would be attached to a Bill to be submitted to Parliament in the forthcoming session.
