STRICTURE RESENTED

WELLINGTON, September. 19
The strongest resentment was expressed by the Wellington Fire Board to-day at the manner in which strictures on various matters: in connection with the brigade were passed by Captain Hugo, Inspector of Fire Brigades, in his annual report to Parliament. A report by Superintendent J. Creeke, replying to the charges which h« characterised as vague and indefinite, was adopted and supported A deputation is to wait on the Minister to present the Board’s complaints df a lack of any direct intimation thirteen months ago, when the Inspector made his visit, that there w r as anything sufficiently amiss to warrant such an attack on the officers.
CLOTHES FOR TAHITI’S CREW. WELLINGTON, September 19, The Dunedin headquarters of the Shipwreck Relief Society has authorised Captain G. P. Hnll acting-Super-intendent of the Mercantile Marine, Wellington, to grant a limited amount to the members of the crew of the Tahiti. This relief is to take ike form of orders for clothing.
