tUSSJAN GOODS TO BE BANNED
OTTAWA, September 17
The importation into Canada of .goods from Russia, which is believed to apply particularly to coal, may be • stopped if an amendment to the Customs Act, that has been moved by the Prime Minister, Air Bennett, becomes law. It proposes to prohibit the importation of goods from any country that is not a party to the Treaty of Versailles TARIFF REVISION. (Received this day at TO a.m.) OTTAWA, September 17. Discrimination against any country is conspicuous by its absence in the 'revision’ of tariff schedules. Where rates are increased, they are increased right across the board. General, intermediate and aggregate, only slightly more in general and intermediate than in British preference, but on 1 the whole there is no wide divengonce.
