'William Tyrrell, .an elderly man ami baker by trade, who had been ill for several years, died at the hospital under an anaesthetic preliminary to an urgent operation.

FARMER’S DEATH

ASHBURTON, September 17

Thomas Power, a middle aged farmer was found dead in a paddock near his farm at Winehmore this morning. Details are lacking, hut it is understood Power took a shotgun when lie went round the'sheep at an early hour, and later he was found dead near a fence.

Germane, a farmer of Kokopu about -50 year's of age was admitted to the hospital suffering from the effects of poisoniug by blue stone. He received prompt treatment but died at 10.30 o’clock. An inquest will be held to-morr6w, SUDDEN DEATH. ' DUNEDIN. September 17, Margaret Elizabeth McKay aged 64 married, left to go shopping this morning and collapsed in the street dying shortly after. She is supposed t-o have suffered from a heart attack.
