BRUTAL ASSAULT
BY PAIR OF ROBBERS.
(Australian Press Association)
. SYDNEY, September 15. Two men who hired a taxi cab at Orange, in New South Wales, instructted William Ind to drive them two hundred miles to Sydney. They brutally assaulted Ind on the way. They robbed and bound him and then cast him into some bushes. They then drove his taxi themselves for the remainder of the journey. The police traded the ruffians when nearing Sydney, and early to-day they used a high-powered car in a sensational pursuit. They finally stopped them, at the point of the revolver, and arrested both outside Parramatta.
