The annual meeting of the Koka-tahi-Koiterangi Winter Show will be held on Saturday night at 8 o’clock at the Public Hall, Kokatahi. A copy of the petition to Parliament regarding assistance to the gold mining industry is at the County Office for signature. All interested are invited to attend and sign the document, within the next seven days. The Westland Racing Club’s midsummer meeting is set down as usual for Boxing Day (Friday) December 26th. and the day following. The Club has decided this year to make the Cup race on the opening day 1! miles, and will include in the programme on both days maiden and hack races. Eight events will be on the card each day. The stakes for the first day will total £BIO, and be second day £760, total for two days £1570. Last year £930 was given in stakes for a one-day meeting on Boxing Day.
