By Telegraph, Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September iti Tin •ee members of the Wellington Rugby team which won the Ranfurly Shield from Southland had their o% reicoats stolen at the hockey dance which they attended that evening, i ius, among other things, was mentioned in the report of the team’s manager, Mr J. N. Millard, presented at to-night’s meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union. The players were Ball, Kilby and Cooke, though the report said: “Cooke was fortunate enough to recognise his on a fellowpassenger on the ferry steamer on Saturday night. The other two, however, are still minus their coats.”

Mr Millard’s report detailed at length the various training activities cf the touring side, and referred to the hearty welcomes extended by the Otago, Southland, and Canterbury Unions. At a dinner following the Southland match the Ranfurly Shield had been handed over to. the team, and, although the loss was a severe one to Southland, the ,'uinion officials had taken the defeat in a fine sporting spirit.

Cooke, stated the report, had been taken to a doctor in Christchurch, and later had entered a hospital for an X-Rny examination,

Mr J, Prendeville, the Chairman, snid the team was to be congratulated on the success of its tour in winning the Ranfurly Shield, and most particularly on defeating the Canterbury side.

Mr Millard observed that the tour had definitely shown that Wellington had a fine team of forwards. Cooke’s injury was only a minor one, and he had since recovered.
