A NOTABLE DEAD. (Australian, Press Association.) SYDNEY, Sept. 8. Obituary—William Scott Fell, managing director of the Inter-state Steamship Ltd. and a general merchant. He was a former member of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales and a prominent figure in the patriotic movement. He’ was aged 64 years. - MOTOR CAR FATALITIES. (Received this dav at 10.80 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 8; Four people in New South Wales and two in Victoria were killed as a result of motor car accidents on Sim* day. A lorry got out of control descending a steep hill at Yass and overturned. A youth was killed and sixteen others injured. Walter .Freeman, an. elderly man is in a serious condition as the result 01being impaled for half an hour when his car crashed into a fence in Melbourne. A paling pierced his abdomen inflicting a frightful wound and the car crushed him against the railings which had to he cut away.
