TRIBUTE TO VENTURA. 4 Cnited Press Association— By FJeciti ! Telegraph—Copyright). WASHINGTON, Sept. 5. The Secretary of the United States Navy, Air Adams, to-day commended Captain Meyer, of the Ventura, a» an officer of the Naval Reserve. In a letter to him, the Naval Secretary said: “The Department notes with Ipeasure the highly efficient, seamanlike manner in wliich the Ventura rescued the passengers and crew of the Tahiti, and accomplished its task. The Deportment takes great pleasure in commending your prompt deeisoii in the circumstances, and your efficient carrying out of your chosen mission, and the successful issue of this humane undertaking, which' was in keeping with the highest traditions of the Navy and of the-Ameri-can merchant marine.’’
