iron COACHBUILDKItS. (By Tcleg.-apb—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 5. T’ne coachbililtlers and motor body builders’ new award, which was issued by the Arbitration Court to-day, do'Bf* not materially depart from the provisions, The new award provides that 47 hours shall constitute an ordinary week’s work and shall lie worked between the hours of 7.30 a.m. and 5.30 p,m. on five clays of the week, and between 7.30 a.m. and noon on one day of the week. The wages shall be paid on an hourly basis. ’I be wages of journeymen shall be not less than 2s 3d per hour, while the minimum wage for helpers rises from £1 2s 6d a, week to £2 17s fid a week. Helpers over 21 years of age will receive Is 10d per hour. Extra helpers above the number specified may be taken on at not less than Is lOd an hour. The minimum wage for assemblers shall be as follows:—For the first year Is lid per hour, and thereafter 2s Id per hour. Employers may in factories within Wellington industrial district, where mass production is carried on employ learner assemblers in the trimmtfnig shop, who shall be permitted to tack in ready-out trimming materials, at the following wages:—For the first six months Is lid an hour, second six months 2s Id an hour, and thereafter 2s 3d an hour.
