ROTORUA, Sept. 3

The New Zealand golf veterans’ tournament ended this afternoon. The weather was indifferent, with heavy rain. Colonel J. Hughes defeated G. H. Scott in the final. Both are o. e ; the Miramar Club. The winner’s gross score was .85, , .arid, his handicap 17. Scott’s score was 81, and his handicap 11. Both players were accorded a great ovation. The win was exceedingly popular. The cup, presented by Mr F. W. Wilkie (president of Rotorua Club) is considered the handsomest golf trophy in the Dominion.
