KOKATAHJ SPRING SALE
At the Kokatahi Yards on Wednesday last W. Jeffries aiid do. held their usual spring sale. The entry comprised 114 head of cattle and 28 sheep. 'Pile attendance was good and competition for the dairy stock yarded was 'brisk.. Springers were in good demand throughout the fixture and it is quite evident dairy fanners arc not dismayed by the fall in butter prices at the other end of the world. There was not the usual entry of good store bullocks the- only line of grown cattle being a pen of 11 three year steers for Mr W. Houston which were passed at £9 12s 6d. A pen of quality milking strain heifers for Mr H. Monk sold remarkably well.
The following sales were recorded: For A. W. Melmrry 3 first call springers at £7 7s Gd, 1 stee r at. £8 10s. For C. Cook 1 first calf springer at £6 2s 6d, 4 dry cows at £3 7s fid. For 11. Monk 3 first calf springers at £9 12s 6d, 1 at £7 ss, 2 at £B, 1 Jersey (bull at £lO 10s. For ’I 1 . Ecclesfield 1 fourth calf springer at £9. For 11. Growcott 10 calves at £2 10s. For W. Houston 1 fist calf springer at £ll 17s 6d. For P. Htslan 1 Red Pole bull at £ll 10s, 1 Rod Pole hull passed at £lO. For S. Havill 1 cow and runner at £5 2s Gd. 2 first calf springers at £7 2s Gd, 2 at £4 15s, 14 yearling steers and heifers at £3 15s. For Jas WooUmuse 1 first calf springer at £7 10s. 2 springing cows at £8 10s. lor E. Morris 2 cows with calves at £B. For B. Sparkos 1 hull at £6. r !he tv o pens of fat hoggets and breeding ewes were passed at 23s and 21s respectively.
