ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. (jjv Telegraph—Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH. Sept. 3. Bool': There were 350 fat cattle yarded including some fine lines from the North Island and from Lower Kokntalii (Westland) and Sterling. These lines attracted special interest. The West iCoast •consignment averaged £2l 3s 6d per head for twenty-two Shorthorn-Hereford bullocks. The competition throughout was spirited at slightly improved prices. Steers sold: Best £2o' 10s to £24, prime £lB 15s to £2l 12s, good £l7 12s to £l9 os, medium £l6 16s to £lB 18s, others £l2 to £l7 10s. Cows and heifers sold: E'xtra £l4 to £2l, prime £l3 os to £l6 10s, good £l2 to £ls, light £9 to £l3. Mutton : There were 3200 fat sheep yarded. The market opened at an advance on last week, and improved as the sale progressed. Wethers sold: Extra 36s to 41s lOd; prime 32s to 355; medium 28s to 31s; light 24s to 275. Ewes sold : Extra 28s to 33s 7d, prime 25s to 27s 6d, medium 21s to 245, light 15s .to 20s. Store sheep: There were 1400 head yarded, and there was a good attendance of buyers. The market was firm. Good sheep improved by 3s per head. Unattractive lots sold at late rates. Good halfbred ewes (two-tooths) in lamb sold a 25s 6d to 31s 6d, medium ditto 23s 7d to 31s 6d, medium ditto 23s 7d and 23s 9d; two, four and six-tooth ewes 22s 4d to, 245; aged ewes 12s to 18s; ewe hoggets 17s 7d to 20s 9d; wethers 12s 4d and 14s 10d; inferior 12; six-tooth wethers 21s. Spring lambs: Only 21 were yarded, attracting keen competition. The best sold at 29s lOd to 38s 7cl, and the others 2-1 s ;ld to 28s 4d. Pigs: There, was a small yarding of pork and bacon, and a good demand at late rates for pork. Bacon was firmer. Pork sold at 12s 6d to £3, heavy to £3 14s 6d ; average 93d per lb. Choppers fetched £3 os to £6 6'; baeoners £3 17s 6(1 to £4 14s 6d, heavy to £5 6s 6d ; average per lb Bd.
