N.Z. NIGHT CLUBS
ARBITRATION COURT JUDGE (By Telegraph—Per Press Association* WELLINGTON, Sept. 3. “I may be ignorant, old-fashioned, or just out of date but what is a Night Club?” asked His Honour Justice Frazer in the Arbitration Court today during the hearing of the Dominion Musicians’ dispute. One of the union’s representatives explained that the difference' between a night club and a cabaret was that whereas a cabaret was a public place, a night club was more private, the patrons being the members of the club. His Honour : “They are one and the same thing, except that you have to know the doorkeeper at one, and not at the other! We haven’t got anything like that in New Zealand, have we?” he asked. The union’s representative stated that two were proposed in Auck- W land. His Honour: “If I know of one I’ll let you know.” (Laughter.) * '
