DOMINION ITEMS.

THE MEASURED “NIP.” (By Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND, Sept. 1. A statement to the effect that the ninepenny “nip” of spirits which was introduced in hotels in Auckland after the announcement of the increased Customs tariff has had only a short life and that.practically all hotels have reverted to the old system of passing over the bottle; is strongly denied by the Auckland Licensed Association. It was admitted by the Association this morning that several hotels have not yet introduced the measure system, but this had been merely because they have not yet been able to acquire the measures.
