PROPOSED TOUR. (Bt Telegraph—Press Association) „ WELLINGTON, September 2. Further advice regarding the proposed tour of New Zealand next season of two American athletes, George Ballwinkle and ’ George Simpson, were received at a meeting of the Council of the Amateur Athletic Association. A cable was received from G. C. Krogness on August 22nd. that Simpson would decide after the Chicago meeting. Billwinkle is still in Europe. It was reported the profit on the New Zealand Championship Meeting was £127.
Official recognition was granted J. G. Le:ckie’s hammer throw of 151 ft. 6in. for a 161 b. hammer throwing clia mpionship at Milton on February 15th. as the best performance of tho kind on record by a New Zealander.
