Caste and Belfonte started on a trans-Atlantic flight at 9.45 a.m. COSTE’S START. paris; sept. i. Costes in an aeroplane “Question Mark” laden with 1155 gallons of petrol, just cleared the trees at Le Bourget. It is hoped to complete the journey in forty or fifty hours via Ireland, thou follow the steamer route. MAKING PROGRESS. (Received this day at 10 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 2. It is announced that the Berengaria communicated with Coste at 11.45 a.m., local time, The aeroplane was off the Irish coast flying fast and reported all “0.K.”
