The difference ’twivt, tiie pipe and the cigarette, is as well marked as that between a. sandwich and a grilled steak. Hence while the cigarette has many votaries, the pipe, because it is so satisfying, has many more. Seasoned smokers say there is nothing to equal a pipe for solid comfort and enjoyment. But see the tobacco is not loaded with nicotine, like the imported brands. Our New Zealand brands (exclusively manufactured by the National Tobacco Co., I.td., pioneers of the N.Z. tobacco industry), are the purest. Why ? Because they are all toasted, and toasting, destroys the nicotine, and renders them harmless. To the toasting, also, must be attributed their delightful flavour and aroma. It is worthy of special note that these are the only toasted tobaccos. Leading brands: “Riverhead Gold,” (a very mild aromatic) ; “Cavendish’’ (the famous sporting mixture); “Navy Out No. 3“ (a blend of very choice leaf, medium flavour); and “Cut Plug No. 10” (a fine, rich, | dark full-flavoured ’baccy, greatly appreciated by old smokers). You can get these goods at any tobacconists.—Advt.
