HOKITIKA HARBOUR BOARD.
FHIDAY, AUGUST-mil, 1930. The. Board met at-4.30 p.ni. Present —Dr Teiehelninim (in the cliair), Messrs E; W. Heenan and ' <l. .L McIntosh. Apologies were made' for the absence of Messrs Richards and Sthnft:Later the Chairman took his seat. The minutes were confirmed, , and outward correspondence approved. ;• . INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. From Auditor-General, Wellington, returning balance-sheet duly certified to.— Received, and approved. From Census Office,: in reference to returns.— Received, and replied to. From Harbours’ Association, in regard to failure of the Government to introduce an amending Harbours Rill. —Received. From various, trade circulars, etc. Received. From Signalman, reporting the channel was good, running straight to sea> with a depth of 10 to 12 feet-;, that damage had been, done to the signal station, one of the signal halyards had,, been cut down.—Received, It was resolved to draw the attention of the Police to the • damage done.' The Engineer’s report on the river conditions, (already published) was received. ■ N -■ ■ ; ft was resolved that the Chairman be authorised to carry out some urgent repairs to the; north wall at the signal station. .Accounts amounting to £312 14s 9d were passed lor payment. It was resolved to., request tin; Inspector of Fisheries to have all the unlicensed trenches in Mahinapua Creek removed by the last year s 'holders. The Board rose at-5,15 p.m.
