FOHGFRY .CHARGES. AUCKLAND, August 28. - Jointly charged with forgery in the Police Court, Josephus Fisher and Dorothy Myra Adams pleaded not guilty and were committed to the Supreme Court for trial. In outlining the case, Chief Detective Hammond said that for several months prior to February last, Fisher was hoarding with the other accused. He called at the Government Labour Bureau, and obtained employment by claiming to he a married man with three'children. Dorothy Adams, was named- as the wile ol Fisher, and, as such ,she cashed two Public Works Department money orders 'for £lO 5s 2d and £1 16s Bd, signing the orders: “Dorothy Fisher.”

Mr Hall Skelton ’(for the ae'ciisedi, admitted the facts, but submitted that there was no evidence of foVgery. The woman was owed the money for board by Fisher, who made the orders payable to her. In using the name of Dorothy Fisher, Adams did not commit forgery, as the name she owned was purely fictitious. Magistrate Hunt:— “That’s still forgery.” Mr. Skelton : “No jury would convict this case.” . 1 ■ The Magistrate /—‘ ‘Nevertheless, *T am going to commit both of the accused to the Supreme Court for trial.” Bail was allowed.
