SYDNEY, Aug. 26.
Hon Air Kenton, Acting Federal Prime Minister, stated to-day that lie was confident . that the negotiations now in progress would enable the Commonwealth to meet the five millions in Treasury Bills maturing in London on September 2nd. He . appealed to the people to pull . their weight, and to have confidence in the recuperative powers of the country. He particularly urged the private capitalists to release the P u ™ c strings.
