7 BERLIN, Aug. 26.. '■ A mysterious bomb plot against Herr Schleimann, a German oil, magnate, has*'resulted in bis ycunb wi;e being, taken to the hospital in ti serious con r x diiion at Hhmbqrg. During the night, miscreants cut all of the millionaire’s, telephone wires', and attached a cord from a shutter to an infernal machine,, '•'in the garden. It was loaded with a. powerful explosive. The bomb was discovered in the morning the fuse having failed tb cause an explosion, but, meanwhile, Frau Schleimann trod on a •'stick cunningly connected with a second bomb, concealed nearby, and this exploded the contents. His wife fell 'unconscious with her face and arms cut/ by a score of fragments of the bomb. It seems that Herr Schleimann has recently been the recipient of blackipailing letters which demanded £1,256,000;' ' The; millibnnire,’ however, put’/the matter l in the "bands of the police. This dynamite outrage may be the blackmailers' revenge. 1 • l :• t,■. - i
