HARRIERS’ N.2, CHAMPIONSHIP,

WELLINGTON, Augpst 23. The New Zealand Harrier Cross Country Championships are down for decision on Saturday next. These will ,be hold over the ten thousand metres course at Lower Hutt, one of the finest in the country. Teams for the championship have been, selected, and prominent among them are: R. A. Rose (Wanganui-Taranaki), P. H. Francis (a former English champion with a high reputation); A. L. Stevens of Wellington (who, has registered fine performances this season.) J. W. Saviden, of Auckland (who has won the New Zealand Championship three years in succession, will be a notable absentee, as he is in Canada with the Empire Games team.) Wellington holds the teams’ championship, and will be represented by the following team: —A. L. Stevens (Scottish), P. , H. Francis, A. Barclay (BrooKlyn), C. McCarthy (Hutt Valley),' L. Watson (Wellington), L Sinclair (Scottish); emergencies, J. Shepherd (Wellington) and : .VF. B. Silver (Scottish). •'< J ’
