The Committee of (Inquiry into, the sugar industry consists ol' eight members, with Mr J. Gunn, ;Commonwealth Director of Development, as Chairman. Every phase of the isugai industry Avill he represented thereon. Their inquiry ill cover the costs, profits, manufacturing conditions, tin necessity for continuance of the preisent (prohibition of .importation of sugar, effects of the present sugar prices in manufacturing industries and fruit processes, values of land used for sugar growing, alien penetration into the sugar industry, and other aspects of the business.
