Smoker preferred.’* 'fll.is advertisement recently appeared in a Southern daily paper, and is chiefly remarkable for the words: “Smoker preferred.” The advertisers evidently recognise that devotees of the weed are best fitted to fill a position calling presumably for concentration, deliberation, and the ability to deal with the complex problems of modern commercial life: Tobacco is certainly an immense heln to the brain worker. It should, of course, he pure and good, not overloaded with nicotine poison as the imported brands so often are.
