INQUEST VERDICT

MOUNT EGMONT FATALITY.

STRATFORD, August 22,

An inquest concerning the death of Lance V. Gibson on Egmont on August 4th, while assisting to rescue an injured man, was concluded today. A verdict was returned death was caused by cold nnd exhaustion. The Coronore said the two men with deceased had done everything possible in the circumstances. While, he said, it was a laudable characteristic of British youth to take risks, he thought all precautions should be taken when climbing such a mountain as Mount Egmont. He thought a combined effort should be made by the committtee of Egmont Park Board and alpine clubs to make the climbing safe.
