BANK ROBBERS. CLEVER RUSE FOILED. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, August 19. An attain, i to roll bank officials of five hundred sterling miscarried today. The Head umcc of the New South Wales Government Savings Banks received a telephone message to despatch five hundred by a particular train to the Earl wood Branch. The money, however, was sent by motor car, and it was learned at Karl wood that no such telephone message had been sent. Neither was the money required. AIR FATALITY. BRISBANE, Aug'. 20. Flying round H..AI.A.S. Albatross whilst the warship was proceeding down ‘tlie Brisbane river, a Moth aeroplane piloted by T. Urquhart with W. Duff as a passenger crashed into the water. Duff was trapped in the wreckage of the plane and drowned. The pilot escaped with cuts on the head.
