TANG I AT RAROTONGA. j WELLINGTON, August 16. ; Word has been received from Rarotonga -that in/ vjejy-qf the arrival at that port of the'AJnkura to-morrow, carrying-the ashes'oLSir Maui Poniare, arrangements are being made by the Rarotonga ihntive people to bold a tangi for their departed chief. ■ Sir MfluiiPomare traced his ancestry back 600 generations to the migration from Rarotonga, It is understood that the Rarotongans are anxious that the ashes should be kept there in accordance with a wish said to have been expressed by Sir Maui Pomare when passing through to California.
