PRINCIPAL TO BE TRIED. LONDON, July 30. Mrs Hilda Fearn, principal of the Mervale Girls’ School, Bickley, who was proceeded against by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, in connection with the death of one child from pneumonia, following measles, and the afflictions of eight others with ringworm, lias been committed for trial. The assistant matron employed at the school from. January to June last gave evidence that some children were in a disgusting state and she suggested that the doctor should ho called in, hut Mrs Fearn replied that measles was only a child’s complaint.
