The preparations of Shamrock V. began at New London on Thursday and are expected to take more than a week. Superfluous fittings will be stripped and the topmast fitted. She came over jury rigged, using 110 of 162 feet mast. Although beset by head winds, she made a 26 days crossing, one day better than her predecessor Shamrock IV.
