A meeting of the Ladies’ Golf-Club will be held at the County Chambers at 7.15 o’clock on Monday, evening. Westland members of the .’-West Coast Representative team to play at West-port are requested to assemble at Newmans Garage to-mprrow (Saturday morning at 7 o’clock.—Advt. : Senior and junior members of tlie Ladies Gymnastic Club are requested to meet at the Soldiers Hall on Monday Aug. 18th, the former meet at 7 p.m. and the latter at 4 p.m. The biggest. goldmining dredge in New Zealand, built by Joseph Sparrow and Sons, for Golden Terrace Extended Company, made a start last week to lift the auriferous sand of the Shotover River and sift gold therefrom. The whole machine is electrically energised, power coming along the Wye Creek.
