A COMMUNIST MOVE

In a statement to-day, Mr Semple M.P., disassociates himself entirely ■from the unemployed deputation wlilc.v attempted to force itself upon Mr Forbes yesterday, and whose tactics he described as nothing short of disgraceful. Wlmt lie did, Mr Semple said was to ask Mr Forbes to receive the deputation through the Trades and Labour Council, and this Mr Forbes had fixed for Friday. Yesterday’s depn tation hud nothing to do with tin's or himself. Yesterday’s deputation was arranged by the Communist Party and there was no connection betwee'n that. Party am the Labour Party. He would have refused to ask ■ the Premier to meet * l tiy such deputation. As far as their repudiation of himself yesterday was concerned, lie could only take it as a compliment coming from that quarter.
