WAGE REDUCTION
FOE N.Z. SIiEAKEBS'. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association WELLINGTON, August 11. Beduced rates for the shearers and shed hands for the 1930-31 .season aie provided for by the Pastoral Workers agreement, just announced. The rates are determined in relation to the index number for wool export prices. The position for the coming season was considered at a meeting ol Air Malcolm Fraser (Government Statistician), Mr W. JI. Nicholson' (Employers’ representative), and Air A. Cook (representative of the .Shearers’ Union.) Air Cook advised the members df the Union to accept the rates, reserving the right to secure, a rate above the minimum when the sheep are rough and hard to shear.
