The Minister remarked that tt was rather a change to have an application for an art union to raise money for the protection of native birds. He remarked that lie had several applicants from new clubs and one from the Cancer Research Committee. Thus it could not he said that art unions were wholly harmful. The society would have its claim noted, as lie was in thorough sympathy with its object. A decision did not rest with him, hut with a subcommittee of the Cabinet. It was the Minister’s intention to co-ordinate all efforts for the objects the Society had.
