WESTLAND SUB-UNION. MONDAY, AUG. 4th. The Sub-Union met at 8 p.m. Present: Messrs H. M. Coulson (chair), McGregor, Stafford, Breeze, Cooper, Lawn, McDonald, Mora, McCleary and Heenan. An apology was made for the absence of Mr Cutbush. The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. INWARD CORK ESPONDENOE. From Ross Chib forfeiting game to Kiwi; also regarding clearance for McAlpine.—Received. 'From James Cooper, asking for jersey to he replaced.—Received; request granted. „..It was resolved that R.imu be declared winners of the Junior Championship'and 'that a competition be opened for the Breeze Shield, of two rounds. SATURDAY’S FIXTURES. Senior game, Mr .J. Mora, referee. Juniors: Kiwi v. Excelsiors, 3 p.m, Mr E. W. Heenan. It was resolved to ask the W.C.R.U. to arrange a match between Co ltd on and Rimu to be played at Kumara on Aug. 9th. School was declared the winners ol the Third-grade Competition. Resolved to have the Boomerang Cup for the junior championship 1930. to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals, Rimu to ho presented with it at the Rugby Presentation Ball. It was resolved that the Sub-Union strongly object to tlie unproportional distribution of tickets for members ol the Union for seats at the fourth test match and that the Chairman and Secretary be instructed to draft a suitable letter to the New Zealand Rugby Union on the matter. A request for tßb use of the Rugby grounds for Combined School games next Saturday was approved. It was resolved that Bailor Rugby Union be asked to return the junior representative visit to Hokitika., Mr F. McGregor gave notice to move: That owing to the Iroatnmnt j meted out to the Sub-Union by lho W.C.R.U., the Sub-Union make application to the N.Z.’R.U. for a sURus a separate Union for Westland district SDYNEY MATCH. (Australian Press A.-sociation.) SIDNEY, August 4. At the Rugby Union match to-day Waratahs defeated the rest by 31 to 11. ALL BLACKS. j ASSEMBLING at OTAKI. OTAIvI, Aug. 5. Baty, Corner, Knight and Stcere, All Blacks, arrived this morning and the others are coming this afternoon. FOURTH TEST. HOLLANDER NOT AVAILABLE. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 4. Ah- S. Hollander will not be available as referee for the fourth test having twisted his toe while releieeiug at Auckland. FOOTE ALI - A TTEN DA N ( E. WHANCARET, Aug. 5. The official figured for the attendance at the Britain v. North Auckland Rugby match was 7,535, and the gate takings were 1.930. Both are district records.
