CONTROL OF HOSPITAL
DISSATISFACTION EXPRESSED.
■ TAIHAPE, July 29. Recently three resident doctors of Taihape resigned from their connection with the Taihape hospital, following the refusal of the Wanganui Hospital Board to withdraw, certain allegedly • insulting remarks. The board thereupon appointed another resident medical officer. Subsequently the Chamber of Commerce convened a public meeting from which a deputation was sent to interview the board, but the board remained obdurate. Last evening, the Chamber of Commerce adopted a resolution: “That this Chamber is of opinion that the present policy cf the Wanganui Hospital Board regarding the Taihape hospital is inimical to the best interests of the institution ,the town "and the district; will increase the cost of maintainance and be less effective than the former policy; and his inflicting grave injustice on the three resident doctors, who have the confidence and esteem of the whole community. The Chamber requests the board to review the whole position at an early date.”
