A large force of Kohidaman rebels who were marching on Kabul, encountered a body of Afghan troops at Murabeg Fort, thirty miles from the city, and'a fierce battle resulted, the tribesmen being routed, leaving one hundred dead, and three thousand captured, who. were taken handcuffed to Kabul. The rebels had depended, apparently for success upon the indifferent attitude of the Afghan soldiery, who have not; been paid for three months. Aircraft later bombed and destroyed four of the rebels’ principal villages.
