CHAMOIS ON MOUNT HUTT.
Showing that chaomis are now spreading over the hill country on the front ranges and far away from the point of original liberation two were shot by a resident of the Methven district, who in employed on a Bakaia Lodge run on the upper slopes of Mount Hutt, which is only ten miles from Methvcn. It is obvious that there are many more of these animals weill down from the main divide, and doubtless run-hold-ers will now be interested to note that their presence has been detected.
