SUGGESTED EXCHANGE
WITH GERMAN STUDENTS. i (By Telegraph—Per Press Association* WELLINGTON, July 25. An 'exchange between German students and those of Victoria College, is suggested in a letter from Dr Klaus Ali 111 nest, of- Berlin, received by Victoria College Council. .It was decided to reply that they had as yet no hostel. When this had been erected, they would be pleased to consider the matter favourably. The letter stated the work of exchange service was based on entire reciprocity. Foreign guests were given room, board, and free tuition at any German University or Technical Institute. students paying other expenses and passage money. As soon as a student reached Germany he would be regarded as a welcome guest and his stay made as successful and pleasant as possible. Much too little was known in Continental Universities about New Zealand, and the younger generation were very, anxious to learn more about the country; and to understand better her people and ideas. The scheme has the approval of the Professorial Board of Victoria College.
