ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. (By Telegraph—Press Association). CHRISTOHURCH, July 23. , Prices at to-day’s live stock sale ,at Addington were as follows:; — Beef:—There were 420 fat cattle yarded, mainly steers. The North Island was well represented. Cows and .leifers weie £1 to 25s dearer ; and Iteers Cl deafer. Steers sold.—Extra Cl 6 12s 6d. to £l9 12s 6d, prime £l4 to £ls 10s, medium £9 10s to £l2 losj Heifers sold: —Extra to £l6 17s od, heavy £ll 15s to £l3 10s ; pi line £9 15s to £11; medium £7 15s to £9; riain £6 to £7 10s. Cows sold:—Heavy £lO to £l6 f7s 6d, prime £9 to £lO 10s; plain £5 10s to £7 10s. Fat Sheep:—There were five thousand yarded, mostly ewes. The sale was irregular and slow. Ewes sold Is to Is fid easier, and wethers Is to Is 6d cheaper. Wethers sold:—Extra 30s to 34s Id, prime 26s to 29s 6d, medium 22s to 25s 6d, light 17s to l 21s 6d Ewes sold:—Extra 23s to 265, prime 19s to 225, medium 15s to 18s fid, light 11s fid to 14s fid, inferior Ss to 40s fid. Fat lambs—There was a small yarding. Primes were firm at late rates. Extra sold to 33s 4d, prime 26s to 28s (id, medium 22s to 24s fid, light 17s to 295. Store Sheep:—There was a small entry of lambs. The sale was lifeless. Three-quarter bred wethers sold 12s fid. half-bred wethers 8s fid, half-bred ewes 8s fid to 9s fid, good to 17s. \dult ewes in lamb were selling well. Other sorts were irregular. Two, four, six and eight tooth three-quarter bred ewes in lamb sold at 28s, the same half-bred at 24s 3d, half-bred two-tooths 2s fid, sound mouth 14s 3d, four, six, and eight tooth half-breds 17s, wethers six-tooth Romney 16s fid, two-tooth lialf-hred 15s 3d to 12s, three-quarter bred 14s lOd. Pigs—There was a large yarding of pork and bacon. Prices were firm at late rates. Pork sold 48s fid to 58s fid, heavy to £3 lls (id, average 9jd eer lb. Choppers sold' £4 to £7, bacon £3 14s fid to £4 14s fid, heavy to £5 9s fid, average 8d per lb.
