FLAT TRAGEDY. YOUNG ACTRESS SHOT. LONDON, July 6. A young man and his wife were found dead on Sunday afternoon in a Hampsted fiat. There was a six-eham- ' bered revolver near the bodies. They j were Eardley Cotterill, aged 24 years, j engineer, and his wife, Margery, aged I 22 years, who was the daughter of Mr J Gerald Lawrence, the actor, and Miss Fay Davis, the actress. Mr and Mrs Cotterill were married only a year ago. Mrs Cotterill had recently returned from the Continent, and she had been living at her parents’ borne while beginning a stage career. Cottrill, meanwhile had been engaged on a job abroad. He returned to London on Sunday. Two hours later Air and Airs Lawrence were horrified to hear revolver shots. 1 They rushed into a room and found their daughter dead and Cotterill almost dead.’ The tragedy was utterly.unexpected. The pair were passionately attached, and Airs Cotterill was apparently on the eve' of a .stage career as promising as her mother’s. ENGINEERING -MERGER. TWO BIG BRITISH FIRAIS. LONDON, July 12.
