MECCA OIL CASE
£520 FOR CLAIMANTS. My Telegraph, Per Press Abjociation. WELLINGTON, July 22. In his reserved judgment in tin Pimental ease (Mecca Oil), Air Page S.M., holds that the transactions were entered into on the false- representations of Pimental, that he was the accredited representative of a company in America .lie called the Mecca, and that his company owned its own oi'. wells and refinery. In view of the fad that criminal proceedings 'were pend ing against defendant, he (Air Page' did not think it desirable to discuss th< matter further. He gave judgment fo the amounts claimed, Wakefield £24’ 17s 3d, Begg £179 10s, Wimsett £B- - id, with costs in each case. Air Treadwell said that under a section of the Alagistrate’s Court Act, hhad filed a notice yesterday. He re quired defendant to be’examined forth with as to any debt accruing or dm to him, with the idea of taking attach anent proceedings on any such . debts He did this because he wanted to hr assured that £3OOO odd, it was alleged defendant had made in New Zealand would not go out of the country.
