Mr Graham’s motion accepting /the House of Lords’ amendment to the Coal Bill, subject to a condition that the district spreadover of hours arrangements must have the appro' al of the Mining Association of Britain and the Miners’ Federation. ■Sir P. Cunliffe Lister, on behalf ol the Opposition, accepted the condition. c-jir Herbert .Samuel said lie hoped the arrangement was a good augury for a future settlement of coal controversies. BRITAIN’S SLUMP. LONDON, July 22. The Daily Express lobby correspondent reports that the experts to the Cabinet .Committee on Unemployment indicate that the end of the great slump is in sight with the possibility of an early trade revival.
