EXCHANGE PROBLEM
SOLUTION. FQR AUSTRALIA. (Australian Press Association) SYDNEY, July 21. A vital conference of bankers and, political leaders was held in Sydney to-day in the presence of Sir Otto Niemeyer (representative-of the Bank of England) the Prime Minister, Hon Mr J. H. Scullin, Sir Robert Gibson, the Chairman of Directors, and Mr E. Riddle, the Governor .of the Commonwealth Bank were af u. present. The conference came to an arranger ment. so that- the available Australian credit overseas will be mobilised at the disposal of the Commonwealth Government; This will provide the solution of the difficult problem of: overseas: exr change, which is now confronting Australia, and the various Governments. Australia will nowi have; the. first call on the-available fundsbi-n'.tbe hands of the banks in London.- ■
