The. adjourned inquest,'' concerning the death of Patrick Duane, who was killed • on' the Carterton-Masterton Road at C'lafev'ille -on the evening of July ;sth was held to-day before the District Coroner, Mr E. ;G; Eton. The verdict* waA that deceased died' as the result of injuries’ sustained by being _ptiruck'bv the failing on a culvert while sitting in the “back of a car driven by Hugh William Munro. Commenting on the evidence; I the Coroner said that there; was no' ;l eye-witness to the accident. The evidence showed that the right-hand side railings, of the culvert was struck by the car, which was proceeding north. The driver of the car said he was dazzled by the lights of an approaching car.
