U.S.A. ATHLETES
TO TOUR N.Z. Hy 'lelegrapl)—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 21. Invitation's are to be sent .by the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association -to two outstanding American athletes to tour New Zealand during the coming athletic season. They are George Simpson, of Ohio, and George Bulhvinkle, from the College of the City of New York. The Council also had a third name for consideration. Barlow* [{tothert (field events) of California, and decided, while favouring his inclusion in the invitation, •to submit the matter to the local centres. In presenting the sub-committee’s report the Council, Mr V.. Hugo said that.there were no athletes suitable in Canada, and in view of the fact that an American team was to tour ' South Africa next season, it, was beyond question to expect visitors from South Africa. It is proposed that tlie Americans will he in New* Zealand from the 12th January to the 24th March.
