GISBORNE R.C. MEETING. (By Telegraph—Press Association). GISBORNE, July 12. The annual steeplechase meeting of the Gisborne Racing Club was brought to a conclusion' to-day in fine weather and a large attendance. The going was good. In the Tehapara Steeplechase, Tamworth fell, throwing P. Mellroy, who suffered a broken cd'llaiibone. The. 'iiotalisator investments for the day were £14,250 against £14,948 on the corresponding day last year, a decrease of £698. and for the meeting £24,076, compared with £26,686 last year a decrease of £2610. Gisborne Hurdles.—(2) Purseful 1, (1) Starnes 2. (5) Tall Timber 3. Won by three lengths; one length. Tmie 2.52 3-5. Trial Handicap.—(3) Bold Archer 1. 1 (4) Queen Card 2, (7) Ruku 3. Won by three-quarters of a length; hall a ■ length. Time 1.18 1-5. Waikanae Handicap.—(l) Singleton 1, (2) Valsier 2, (3) Teauha 3. Won by half a length; three-quarters oi a length. Time 1.45. Won by four lengths; one length. Time 5.39 2-5. Turanganui Handicap.—(l) Arrowhead 1, (5) Autumn Sun 2, (2) Royal Songster 3. Won by three-quarters of a length; half a length. Time 1.31 1-5. Farewell Handicap.—(3) Valsier 1, (5) Clarernore 2, (1) King Wanga. 3. Won by one length; the same. Time 1.16 3-5. W AIM ATE HUNT MEETING. W AIM ATE, July 19. The Waimate Hunt Steeplechase meeting was held to-day in du|U weather. The previous meetings were held on Thursdays, the day of the local half holiday, but this year Saturday was tried as an experiment in order to catch the half holiday attendance from neighbouring towns. The attendance, however, was only fair, and the tota/lisator handled £4,914} against £5,732} in 1928. The 1929 meeting was abandoned owing to bad weather. The track was in good condition, following on light showers over-night.

Winter Trot.—(l) Snowy Huon 1, (2) Great Scott 2, Mary Locanda 3. Won by a half a' length; three lengths. Time 3.38 2-5-Hunt Club Cup.—(/I) Barrington 1, (2) Ngalme 2, (4) Marcopolo 3.. Barrington led down the back straight •from 'Ngaliue and Mavcopolo, these three being the only possibilities, and won comfortably by a length, Marcopolo being third six lengths behind. Red Heather finished fourth. Ace Pot fell at the stand double. Time 3.48. Worven Handicap.—(3) Arrowmir 1, (2) First Raid 2, (1) Fair Money 3. The only starters. Won by a ijeck; three lengths. Godfrey Watson Steeples.—Bangdang 10.2 (Winks) 1, Ebony Prince i 107 (Howson) 2, Kaituna 9.7 (Inkson) 3. Time 4.31. MOO REFIELD PARK R ACES. SYDNEY, July 20. At ALoorfield races the Juvenile Handicap resulted: Kingmareh 7.8 (Voice) 1, Sir Duninald 7.7 (Davidson) 2, Dalmatic 7.9 (Cook) 3. Fifteen started. Kingmareh made his run up the hill to the straight entrance, when lie had the race well in luma, a fid won by a length easing up . Time 1.45. Flying Welter, second division. — Cool Dan 9.11 (Minto) 1, Cool Mint 9.0 (Coutts) 2. Waugoola 9.0 (Reynolds) 3. Eighteen started. Won by two lengths. Time 1,163. None of the other ten New Zealand horses engaged ran into a place. After an unsuccessful .visit to Sydney, two New Zealand horses, Borsa- , lone and Austerity, are returning to the Dominion aboard the Ulimaroa. GRAND NATIONAL ACCEPTANCES. CHRISTCHURCH, July 19.
