WELLINGTON, July 16

A deputation from the Wellington Chamber of Commerce waited upon the Prime Minister to-night and protested against the departure from the previous practice in regard to the acceptance of customs entries. Mr Forbes said the Government desired to adopt a system fair in operation. He promised to discuss the matter with the Comptroller of Customs. The Comptroller, who was present, said his Department thought the method adopted was the best that could be evolved in the circumstances.
