WANTED, A ROAD INVENTOR.

“It is stated that Regent Street was last repaved in 1919,” says the “Even-

ing News,” of London. MThat is 11 years ago. If 11 years is the life of a. modern London street it means that one-eleventh of all the main thoroughfares in London' must be, renewed every year. Actually the percentage must now be placed higher. The fault seems to lie with the inventors. They have improved, enlarged, cheapened" and multiplied motor vehicles, but they have not improved the technique of roadmaking. Substantially pur roads are still made much ihe same way as the Romans made theirs. The layman does not understand the technique of roadinaking. He simply feels that he has a right to eomplnin against the whole fraternity of inventors that they have neglected a great opportunity. There is a fortune waiting for the man who designs a silent, non-skid road that will stand up under modern traffic conditions for even a quarter of a century.”
