A message from' Los Angeles states the City Hall was the scene of a murder which arose from an investigation of the notorious Julian petrol scandal, in which the public losses exceeded twenty millions sterling. Motley Flint,a millionaire, and leading financier, a former ■,postmaster of Los Angeles, had jiist finished testifying, and was stepping from the witness • stand when Frank Keaton,' an attorney and real estate .broker, is alleged to have shot him in the- neck,, killing him ; instantly. Keaton rendered.Flint was Viee-President of the Savings Bank-and.:charges were' pending against him involving the violation of his trust in connection with the Julian swindle; .
